Replikan byggdes 1991 i Isla Cristina (Huelva) inf\u00f6r v\u00e4rldsutst\u00e4llningen 1992 i Sevilla. F\u00f6r att fira v\u00e4rldsomseglingen och sprida kunskap om de spanska uppt\u00e4ckarna startade fartyget en ny v\u00e4rldsomsegling 2004, den 43.282 km l\u00e5nga resan varade i tv\u00e5 \u00e5r varvid 17 l\u00e4nder bes\u00f6ktes.
