Fartyget Svea \u00e4r designat av Skipsteknisk AS i Norge och byggs av Astilleros Armon i Vigo i nordv\u00e4stra Spanien.<\/p>\n<p>Det \u00e4r Sveriges Lantbruksuniversitet, SLU, som har best\u00e4llt fartyget. Det kostar 28,6 miljoner euro. Det \u00e4r ett nytt oceang\u00e5ende unders\u00f6knings- och forskningsfartyg.<\/p>\n<p>Fartyget ska fr\u00e4mst anv\u00e4ndas av SLU och SMHI. SLU unders\u00f6ker fiskbest\u00e5nd i \u00d6stersj\u00f6n, Kattegatt och Skagerrak med hj\u00e4lp av tr\u00e5lning och avancerad ekolodning. Unders\u00f6kningarna anv\u00e4nds till best\u00e5ndsuppskattningar och att ge r\u00e5d om hur mycket vi kan fiska p\u00e5 ett h\u00e5llbart s\u00e4tt. SMHI genomf\u00f6r utsj\u00f6expeditioner f\u00f6r att studera bl.a. \u00f6verg\u00f6dning, syref\u00f6rh\u00e5llanden, marin f\u00f6rsurning och marin biologi.<\/p>\n<p>Fartyget ska levereras i april 2019. Det m\u00e4ter 69,50 meter p\u00e5 l\u00e4ngden och 15,80 meter p\u00e5 bredden.
