Vid botaniska parken Orquidario i Estepona \u00e4r man glada \u00f6ver h\u00e4ndelsen. Manuel Lucas s\u00e4ger att de \u00e4r mycket \u00f6verraskade av blomningen d\u00e5 det \u00e4r f\u00f6rsta g\u00e5ngen det h\u00e4nder i Spanien. <\/p>\n

Svenska Magasinet bes\u00f6kte anl\u00e4ggningen i onsdags var f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntningarna stora. Skulle j\u00e4ttekn\u00f6lkallan sl\u00e5 ut eller inte. Sedan ig\u00e5r blommar \u201dAmorphophallus titanum\u201d som den heter p\u00e5 latin.<\/p>\n

Under m\u00e5ndagen kom hundratals bes\u00f6kare bara f\u00f6r att se j\u00e4ttekn\u00f6lkallan blomma. Den kan bli \u00f6ver tre meter h\u00f6g.<\/p>\n

J\u00e4ttekn\u00f6lkallan \u00e4r k\u00e4nd f\u00f6r sin starka lukt, som p\u00e5minner om ett ruttnande djur, och kallas ibland f\u00f6r kadaverblomman. <\/p>\n

J\u00e4ttekn\u00f6lkallan uppt\u00e4cktes och beskrevs f\u00f6rsta g\u00e5ngen av Odoardo Beccari 1878. Namnet p\u00e5 latin, Amorphophallus titanum, betyder ”forml\u00f6s j\u00e4ttefallos”.<\/p>\n
