Allt tyder p\u00e5 att det var terroristorganisationen ETA som l\u00e5g bakom attentatet. En anonym person ringde \u00e4ven till brandk\u00e5ren i omr\u00e5det och varnade f\u00f6r bomben som bed\u00f6ms ha inneh\u00e5llit 15 kilo spr\u00e4ngmedel. V\u00e4ktare vid domstolen hade redan innan samtalet kom uppm\u00e4rksammat en liten misst\u00e4nkt ryggs\u00e4ck som hade placerats vid ing\u00e5ngen. Polisen hann utrymma det f\u00e5tal personer som befann sig i domstolen sent p\u00e5 kv\u00e4llen. Man valde \u00e4ven att utrymma ett antal bost\u00e4der i n\u00e4rheten.
