Bygget av en h\u00e4ngbro diskuterades ocks\u00e5 men fick avslag 1995 d\u00e5 projektet helt fokuserade p\u00e5 en tunnel liknande den mellan Storbritannien och Frankrike. Den tunneln \u00e4r 50 km varav 39 \u00e4r under vatten.<\/p>\n<p>Sedan dess har tre utredningar gjorts med bland annat djupa borrh\u00e5l i havet samt de socioekonomiska och milj\u00f6m\u00e4ssiga konsekvenser projektet skulle f\u00e5.
