Galicien \u00e4r st\u00f6rst i Europas och st\u00e5r ensam f\u00f6r femtio procent av EU:s totala produktion.<\/p>\n<p>Det \u00e4r vattnet i de galiciska flodmynningarna som bidrar till ett idealiskt ekosystem f\u00f6r odling av musslor. Traditionellt anv\u00e4nds \u201dbateas\u201d som \u00e4r flytande tr\u00e4konstruktioner i form av en grill. P\u00e5 avst\u00e5nd ser det ut som flottor.<\/p>\n<p>Det \u00e4r i huvudsak bl\u00e5musslor som odlas p\u00e5 rep eller n\u00e4t i fjordarna d\u00e4r v\u00e5gp\u00e5verkan \u00e4r mindre. Musslor f\u00f6r konsumtion sk\u00f6rdas i regel under h\u00f6st och vinter. Uppf\u00f6dningen tar mellan 12 och 17 m\u00e5nader.<\/p>\n<p>Det finns uppgifter p\u00e5 att vid bra odlingsbetingelser kan en musselodling p\u00e5 en yta om en hektar ge en sk\u00f6rd om cirka 300 ton musslor per 17 m\u00e5nader.<\/p>\n<p>F\u00e5ngsten som den galiciska fiskeflottan landar l\u00e5g fram till november ifjol p\u00e5 125.000 ton. Den biologiska m\u00e5ngfalden och marina ekosystemet ska s\u00e4kerst\u00e4llas.<\/p>\n<p>Galicien \u00e4r s\u00e5 annorlunda j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med Kanarie\u00f6arna, Costa Blanca, Costa del Sol eller Balearerna. H\u00e4r finns inga l\u00e5nga str\u00e4nder.
