Medan det sk\u00f6rdas omkring 350000 ton jordgubbar i Huelvaprovinsen forskas det i Churriana vid M\u00e1laga om framtidens jordgubbar.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Samtidigt som forskare f\u00f6rs\u00f6ker f\u00e5 fram sorter som kr\u00e4ver mindre vatten ska den vara saftig, s\u00f6t och v\u00e4lsmakande.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kanske vi har sett bilderna fr\u00e5n Lepe i Huelvaprovinsen p\u00e5 gr\u00e4nsen till Portugal. Upp emot 2.500 jordgubbsplockare \u00e4r i full g\u00e5ng under v\u00e5ren med att sk\u00f6rda b\u00e4r f\u00f6r export till norra Europa. M\u00e5nga av dem \u00e4r migranter och tillf\u00e4lliga arbetare som kommer fr\u00e5n Marocko.<\/p>\n<p>2023 sk\u00f6rdades 349000 ton jordgubbar i Huelvaprovinsen vilket var den tredje h\u00f6gsta siffran n\u00e5gonsin. Flest jordgubbar sk\u00f6rdades \u00e5r 2000 med 388000 ton. H\u00e4r ligger institutet IFAPA (Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n y Formaci\u00f3n Agraria y Pesquera de Andaluc\u00eda) vid det som \u00e4r Cortijo de la Cruz. Institutet \u00e4r under regionregeringens tillsyn.<\/p>\n<p>Det beskrivs som kanske den st\u00f6rsta i Europa och en av de st\u00f6rsta i v\u00e4rlden n\u00e4r det g\u00e4ller forskning p\u00e5 jordgubbar. 1988 b\u00f6rjade det i en blygsam skala med cirka 20 europeiska jordgubbssorter.<\/p>\n<p>Nu finns det omkring 600 (!) sorters jordgubbar vid IFAPA:s anl\u00e4ggning. Jordgubben som ursprungligen h\u00e4rstammar fr\u00e5n Smultronsl\u00e4ktet Fragaria.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Antioxidant<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>H\u00e4r tr\u00e4ffade jag Cristina Castillejo Mangado som tog mig med p\u00e5 en rundvandring bland alla krukor med olika slags jordgubbar och smultron. H\u00e4r forskas det p\u00e5 \u00e4mnet jordgubbar.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Bland annat har hon tillsammans med Iraida Amaya Saavedra som ocks\u00e5 arbetar vid IFAPA medverkat till en rapport om DNA-tester och vad som ger mogna jordgubbar sin karakteristiska f\u00e4rg. Det beror p\u00e5 den h\u00f6ga koncentrationen av antocyaniner. Sl\u00e4ktet best\u00e5r av fler\u00e5riga \u00f6rter med trefingrade blad, vita blommor, samt skenfrukter. Skenfrukterna bildas av den uppsv\u00e4llda, k\u00f6ttiga blomaxeln, som p\u00e5 ytan b\u00e4r sm\u00e5 n\u00f6tter.<\/p>\n<p>I Churriana finns en jordgubbsbank f\u00f6r forskningsprojekt inom b\u00e4rsektorn. Allt f\u00f6r att f\u00e5 en b\u00e4ttre arom, f\u00e4rg, form, h\u00f6gre C-vitamininneh\u00e5ll samtidigt som den ska kr\u00e4va mindre vatten vilket g\u00f6r att olika sorters jordgubbar korsas varje \u00e5r. M\u00e5let \u00e4r ocks\u00e5 att f\u00e5 fram jordgubbar som passar f\u00f6r odling p\u00e5 en viss plats.<\/p>\n<p>Omkring 100 olika jordgubbar tas fram varje \u00e5r i forskningssyfte.<\/p>\n<p>Den jordgubbe som odlas och konsumeras idag \u00e4r en hybrid fr\u00e5n tv\u00e5 amerikanska vilda arter som b\u00f6rjade odlas i Europa. L\u00e4gg m\u00e4rke till det vetenskapliga namnet p\u00e5 latin: Fragaria vesca<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Vid IFAPA:s anl\u00e4ggning i Churriana forskas det \u00e4ven kring Silvestres som \u00e4r det spanska ordet f\u00f6r smultron. Genast t\u00e4nker vi p\u00e5 skogspromenader i Sverige.<\/p>\n<p>Doften, f\u00e4rgen och smaken av skogssmultron. Sj\u00e4lv var jag uppvuxen med det i Sm\u00e5land och l\u00e5nga promenader som liten med mormor och morfar. Vi kl\u00e4dde l\u00e5nga gr\u00e4sstr\u00e5 fulla med smultron.<\/p>\n<p>Det finns tolv stycken sorter av smultron, med tre vilda hemmah\u00f6rande i Sverige.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Det v\u00e4xer smultron vilt i Spanien ocks\u00e5. Exempelvis i Pyren\u00e9erna.
